Axel Desmedt, Member of the Council, is in charge of the following departments :
- the Assignment Department: strategy and coordination of the radio spectrum management (international and national levels), radio communications international organisations, operational management of the frequency plan, (international) standardisation, granting of radio communications authorisations (including the organisation of auctions) and vocal telephony and fixed network authorisations, telecommunications services declarations, organisation of examinations;
- the Legal Department: telecommunications and radio communications regulatory framework, legal aspects of the electronic communications market regulation, general legal support to the other departments, dispute settlement, reconciliation, international treaties;
- the Personnel Department: management of the BIPT staff, recruitments, Sector committee, continuous training.
