The mediation service at La Poste was established in accordance with the Act of 21 March 1991, art.43ter regarding the mediation service in some autonomous public companies.
The Act of 21 December 2006 (Moniteur belge of 23 January 2007, 2nd edition) modified the competences of this service and transformed it into a :
Mediation service for the postal sector (MSPOS)
So the intervention scope of this service has been extended to all the companies active on the Belgian postal market.
The Mediation Service has the following tasks: it examines all the complaints of users relating to:
• The activities of La Poste, except for the complaints that fall within the competence of another independent sector specific dispute commission or of another independent mediator or the complaints concerning products and services offered by La Poste in subcontracting of third parties;
• The postal activities of the companies providing postal services within the meaning of Art. 131, 1°, of the Act of 21 March 1991.
