“HCM Agreement” is the name used to designate the Agreement between the authorities of Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Germany, France, Hungary, the Netherlands, Croatia, Italy, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Poland, Romania, the Slovak Republic, Slovenia and Switzerland, regarding the co-ordination of frequencies between 29.7 MHz and 39.5 GHz for the Fixed Service and the Land Mobile Service in accordance with Article 6 of the ITU Radio Regulations.
This Agreement deals with the co-ordination of frequencies between 29.7 MHz and 39.5 GHz, for the purposes of preventing mutual harmful interference to the Fixed Service and the Land Mobile Service and optimising the use of the frequency spectrum.
The HCM Agreement provides for detailed administrative procedures concerning frequency co-ordination and also includes technical provisions. The HCM software (Harmonised Calculation Method) has been developed to ensure harmonised use of the calculation methods laid down in the Agreement.
The Agreement was signed in Vilnius on 12 October 2005.
