Radio equipment conformity assessment

Radio equipment that is placed on the market must comply with the applicable essential requirements. The radio equipment must be built in such a way that it efficiently uses the spectrum allocated for communication between earth and space.

In order for the manufacturer to be able to comply with this, the frequency plan must be published in sufficient detail.

BIPT would suggest that the Annexes to the Ministerial Order of 19 October 1979, amended by the Ministerial Order of 19 October 1999 (Moniteur belge of 25/12/99) be used as a voluntary standard. Radio equipment that meets these standards is in accordance with the new Directive and the national frequency plan.

Manufacturers may of course also choose to show that they meet the essential requirements of the Directive.

These Annexes contain, moreover, the details of the frequency plan that are applicable to a particular category.
