In accordance with Article 14 of the Act of 17 January on the status of BIPT, one of the tasks of the Institute is to see to the respect of the provisions contained in the Act on “electronic communications” and the regulatory texts adopted in application of that Act.
Two sections of the Institute are in charge of this task.
On the one hand, the monitoring service of the operators that, for instance, monitors whether the universal service provisions are correctly applied or identifies statements of fact to assist the Institute in making decisions towards given operators.
On the other hand, the national spectrum monitoring department (NCS) that makes sure that all wave users comply with the provisions imposed upon them concerning frequencies.
