The Act of 21 March 1991 created two consultative committees : one for telecommunications and the other for postal services. The Act of 17 January 2003 reorganised the powers of both committees in the light of the larger autonomy granted to the Institute : as a result, both committees will from now on give annual recommendations about the Institute’s activities.
Both committees have a triple task :
- a statutory task, contained in the various legal and regulatory provisions;
- a general advisory task;
- the analysis of the international aspects of the telecommunications market and the development of postal services.
