E-mail addresses

An e-mail address is based on an Internet Protocol (IP) and allows you to identify yourself. It may be linked to your domain name, e.g. jan@smet.be, or to an Internet provider, e.g. jan.smet@name-your-internet provider.be, or even a server independent of an Internet provider such as Gmail, Yahoo, etc.

Should you change your Internet provider, you can continue to use your address linked to your domain name or external server while an address linked to the Internet provider cannot be kept longer than 18 months.
