Examinations

The radio amateur exams are organised at the BIPT offices in Brussels. There is at least one exam session each month.

To register for the exam you need to go to the registration website at the following address: http://registration.bipt.be.

At this address you can consult the exam dates and you can register.

You can register for an exam until two weeks before the examination date and as long as there remain seats.

Please keep scans of the following documents on hand to complete registration:

• passport photograph
• Identity card (recto-verso)

Please add these documents in the correct format (PDF, JPG, PNG or TIF file type of max. 1 MB). If not, you will not be able to complete your registration.

Upon completion of your registration you will receive a confirmation email containing the information necessary for payment as well as any further information.

 

Class B examination (HAREC)

The Class B exam consists of 33 multiple choice questions about the subject matters covered by the manual. To pass the exam a 66% score has to be achieved.

No exemptions are granted on the subject matter.

 

 

Class C examination (Basic licence)

The Class C exam consists of 24 multiple choice questions about the subject matters covered by the manual. To pass the exam an 80% score is needed.

No exemptions are granted on the subject matter.

To take this exam, you must have a certificate of achievement of a practical test organised by a radio amateur association recognised by the Institute.

The following associations have been recognised by BIPT in accordance with Article 1, 12° of the Ministerial order of 9 January 2001 on the establishment and the operation of radio stations by radio amateurs:
