The draft bill subject to this public consultation forms part of a section of a bill ‘pertaining to various provisions concerning the economy III’.

On the proposal of the Minister of Economy, the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Justice, the Minister of Digital Affairs, the Minister of Consumer Protection, and the Minister of the Middle Class, this bill amends the Code of Economic Law and legislation impacting on the economy.

The proposed amendment to the Act of 13 June 2005 on electronic communications, with regard to domain names, forms part of the ‘E-commerce Plus’ Action Plan, which includes a ‘measure 5.5’ providing for the introduction of an obligation to appoint a legal representative within the EU in order to be eligible to register a ‘.be’ domain name.
