The BIPT's annual study on consumers’ perception of the Belgian telecom market highlights a very different experience between generations.
The classic model (TV with decoder, text messages and fixed telephony) persists alongside newer services that are widely embraced by younger consumers, such as calling via apps. Satisfaction scores and assertiveness towards operators vary significantly as well.
A constant factor, however, is that respondents are unlikely to change tariff plans or operators quickly, despite the means at their disposal to facilitate this. Furthermore, knowledge of existing consumer rights appears insufficient.
