The BIPT ensures that postal, telecom and digital services operate effectively, that the applicable rules and regulations are respected, and that users can count on quality and certainty.

That is why the regulator frequently conducts studies and requests information from the organisations in the industries it regulates.

Needless to say, the BIPT relies on their cooperation in order to properly fulfil its missions.

Unfortunately, the Institute finds that its requests for information are increasingly left unanswered or that the information is provided late or is incomplete.

As the BIPT Council announced in its communication of 3 December 2025 and during the 2025 Stakeholder’s Meeting, the BIPT is consequently stepping up its monitoring of this issue.

In that regard, Colt and B-Connect are the first operators to be called to order and fined by the BIPT.
