In order to carry out its tasks, the BIPT regularly sends formal requests for information to the relevant market players. These requests may be recurring or ad hoc (see in particular the vade mecum presenting the recurring data collections for the year 2026 concerning the electronic communications sector).

In any case, companies contacted by the BIPT for this purpose are required to respond to its requests within the specified time limits.

Furthermore, other legal provisions require certain players to provide specific information to the BIPT (e.g., contact details, incident notifications) without the latter having to request it.

Failure to comply with requests for information from the BIPT or with the obligations laid down in the regulations to provide information to the BIPT may result in measures and sanctions being imposed.
